What We Believe

We believe in the Scriptures

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, written by men guided by the Holy Spirit. We accept the New Covenant, presented in the New Testament, as our infallible guide of conduct and doctrine (2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 1 Peter 1:21).

We believe in the Holy Trinity

Our God is one, but He is manifested in three – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Father is the source of all life (John 14:28; 16:28). The Son is the One that was created and exists with the Father since the beginning (John 1:1, 18, 14). The Holy Spirit was sent by the Father to be our Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor and Strengthener. Such as the Father and the Son, the Holy Spirit is eternal (John 15:26).

We believe in the fall and in the redemption of man

Man was created in the image and likeness of God; however, after the transgression and fall of Adam, sin entered in the world, as it is written in Romans 3:23 – “Since all have sinned and are falling short of honor and glory which God bestows and receives”. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, appeared to destroy the works of the devil. He gave His life and poured His blood to redeem and restore the nature of mankind (Romans 5:14-15; 3:23-24; 1 John 3:8). Salvation is a gift from God to man, given by His grace, by faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8).

We believe in Eternal Life and in the New Birth

The first step of man in direction to salvation is repentance. The New Birth is necessary to all man and produces Eternal Life (2 Corinthians 7:10; 1 John 5:12; John 3:3-5).

We believe in Water Baptism

Water baptism is by immersion, being a mandate from God to all believers. This ordinance is the symbol of the identification of the believer with Christ in His death and resurrection (Matthew 28:19; Acts 8:36-39). About water baptism, we baptize in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, after the confession of faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit

The baptism in the Holy Spirit is a gift of God, promised by Jesus Christ to all believers in the New Covenant. The initial evidence of this experience is the speaking in tongues, given by the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:11; Acts 1:8; 2:4).

We believe in the divine cure

The cure of illnesses in the human body is operated by the power of God, through faith and the laying on of hands. It was made available by Christ and is a privilege given to all members of the Body of Christ (Mark 16:18; 1 Peter 2:24; Matthew 8:17).

We believe in the resurrection of the righteous and in the Eternal Judgement

Jesus will return from Heaven the same He was lifted up (Acts 1:11). His return is imminent. When He returns, “those who have departed this life in Christ will rise first. Then we, the living ones who remain on the Earth, shall simultaneously be caught up along with the resurrected dead in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). After tribulation, Jesus will return to Earth as King of kings and will reign for a thousand years (Revelation 20:4-6).

We believe in the existence of hell and in the Eternal Punishment

Those who physically die without Christ are without hope and are eternally lost in the lake of fire and brimstone; therefore, they do not have more opportunities for repentance. The lake of fire and brimstone is real. The terms “eternal” and “forever” are used to describe the length of time of this punishment (Revelation 19:20). Those terms are also used to describe the length of the joy and ecstasy of the ones that will live in the presence of the God (Hebrews 9:27-28).
