Please, take a moment to meditate on those Bible verses:
Proverbs 3:5-8
[5] Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.
[7] Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
[8] Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones.
True wisdom comes from trusting the Lord with all of our hearts. When we rely on our own strength, own courage and own intellect, we lose direction. Trusting the Lord means walking with Him side by side, knowing that He is taking care of you and supplying everything you may need along the journey.
We need to have full confidence on who He is and on His promises. That is the substance of our calling. First and foremost, we were called to be children of God. Your calling is not your job. Your calling is not what you do. Your calling is not your abilities. You were called by God to be His child. That means that we were called to enjoy His presence. We were called to be with Him. And, if you understand who you are in Christ, you understand what you already possess as a child of God.
Many times, we cannot control the circumstances around us, but we can control how we will react to those circumstances. You can control if you will be a person guided by your spirit. You can choose to be guided by the spiritual connection you now have with God, or you can choose to be guided by emotions and by whatever happens in your life or around you. We cannot predict many things that happen around us. And it is ok to feel sad, frustrated, disappointed, scared… However, you do not need to live your life stuck in that feeling forever. You can decide to overcome those feelings, because you trust the Lord with all of your heart. Therefore, you should know the tools you have to overcome circumstances. You should know how to use your faith. If that sounds too impossible for you, it is because you haven’t yet fully understood who you are in Christ. You haven’t fully understood what you are capable of doing as a child of God.
As a child of God, you were redeemed from misery, sin and death. You now belong to a kingdom of righteousness (right standing before God – it means that you are not a sinner anymore), prosperity, forgiveness, safety, freedom and healing. All of those things are already yours. They will not be in the future. They belong to your present reality. However, if you do not know about this, you may live your entire life trying to have those things. If you do not know who you are, you will spend your entire life trying to get something that is already yours.
You may spend your life, begging God to give you what He already gave you. Your confessions will always be “I need something” – and that is not faith. Jesus died for you on the cross; so that, you could already have it. You are already in a position of victory. What do you need? Joy? Peace? Health? Love? Financial stability? You claim what is already yours in the name of Jesus. You were already redeemed.
This week, a read a powerful statement: “Righteous people are not trying to get forgiven. Healed people are not trying to get healed”. Receive what is already yours. You need to stand firm in the position of victory. Obviously, the devil will try to deceive you into thinking that you still need to beg God. Or into thinking that he can steal your joy, your peace, your freedom, your health, your finances, your relationship…
The devil will try to attack your health, your mind and your feelings. However, he cannot do anything unless you give permission. As in a basketball game, he will only take the ball if you let him. The devil has no authority over you. He will try to deceive you, pretending that he is in control of the situation. However, you have a relationship with God. You are the one in absolute control of the situation. “But I do not feel like I am in control of the situation!” Keep declaring the Word. Faith believes and Faith declares the Word of God. You do not complain. You do not get desperate. You do not beg God. You behave like someone who is more than conqueror. We are in control of manifesting Heaven’s reality in this world and in our lives.
Matthew 18:18
Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be[e] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
You are not a slave anymore. A slave is someone who does not have control of anything. That is not your reality anymore. The devil will try to attack you, by bringing you lies about your thoughts, about your feelings and about your perception of life. However, you must keep strong in faith. Replace those thoughts, those feelings and those perceptions with the Word of God. The Word is the truth. The truth that will guide your life. Declare what the Word says about you. Do not give up. Yes, you may cry for a bit, but then you get up. And you stand strong. The devil will only be successful attacking you if you let him be strong in your life.
Some people talk about hardships, hard circumstances as almost if they were praising the devil. “Oh, I am facing those circumstances. Oh, life is so hard”. Hey, you need to praise God. You need to glorify Him. You need to keep remembering that you are more than conqueror in Christ.
Romans 8:35-39
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
36 As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,
39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Yes, I know that life may get hard sometimes. However, we are already in a position of victory. Tell you yourself: I cannot be defeated and I will not quit. The power and the wisdom that you need to overcome circumstances are already inside of you. Rejoice!
